About us
CrankPal was born from a simple belief: looking after your bike should be easy, predictable and worry-free. Today it isn't — repairs happen when it's already too late, and every workshop does things its own way.
Where we come from
CrankPal wasn't born behind a desk, but with hands covered in grease. The founders are all bike mechanics: years spent among cables, cassettes and wheels to true, long before lines of code. And they are, first and foremost, cyclists — some commute to work every morning, some get lost on gravel at the weekend, some have raced.
The idea was born right there in the workshop. We saw the same scenes every day: a bike breaking down on the wrong weekend, a chain worn out for weeks, a customer bounced between quotes and providers that don't talk to each other. We could fix anything, but the real problem was different: work always started too late, and the workshop remained the last link — invisible and undervalued.
We wanted to turn things around: put the workshop's expertise at the centre, give it the tools to anticipate failures instead of chasing them, and take the burden of having to think about it off cyclists' shoulders. CrankPal is the workshop we would have wanted behind us back when we were the ones on the other side of the bench.
Our mission
To combine predictive maintenance and a network of affiliated workshops with shared quality standards in a single subscription. You ride: we take care of the rest, with a hand from artificial intelligence.
What we do
- Predictive maintenance. We estimate component wear by combining GPS, phone sensors, Strava integration and service history — so we warn you before the failure, not after.
- Workshop network. You book from the app, with standard prices and guaranteed quality, and you give workshops a hand with software that makes their work easier.
For cyclists and for workshops
We build two sides of the same experience: an app that keeps riders' bikes healthy, and a platform that helps bike workshops grow with customers and ready-made diagnoses.
